(C) 2010 Sovereign Grace Baptist Church
A Brief Overview of What Makes Us Different

"I depend wholly and alone upon the free, sovereign, eternal, unchangeable and everlasting love of God; the firm and everlasting covenant of grace, and my interest in the persons of the Trinity; for my whole salvation: and not upon any righteousness of my own, nor any thing in me, or done by me under the influences of the holy Spirit; nor upon any services of mine, which I have been assisted to perform for the good of the church; but upon my interest in the persons of the Trinity, the person, blood and righteousness of Christ, the free grace of God, and the blessings of grace streaming to me through the blood and righteousness of Christ; as the ground of my hope." - John Gill

"Salvation is accomplished by the almighty power of the Triune God. The Father chose a people, the Son died for them, the Holy Spirit makes Christ's death effective by bringing the elect to faith and repentance, thereby causing them to willingly obey the gospel. The entire process (election, redemption, regeneration) is the work of God and is by grace alone. Thus God, not man, determines who will be the recipients of the gift of salvation." - R.L. Dabney

We preach that man is totally dead in trespasses and sin and is unable to contribute anything towards his salvation.  All men, women, and children are sinners from birth with no power to save themselves and are slaves to sin through life and are condemned to everlasting punishment upon death.
2 Chronicles 6:36,  Ps. 51:5, Ps. 130:3, Prov. 20:9, Eccl. 7:20, Eccl. 9:3, Isaiah 53:6, Is. 64:6, Jer. 17:9,  John 3:19, Rom. 3:9-18, Rom.5:12, Rom. 8:7-8, 1 Cor. 2:14,  Eph.2:1-3,  Eph. 4:17-19, Col.2:13, Titus 1:15, 1 John 5:19, etc.

But God has chosen a people from every nationality and country and provided the source of their salvation in grace through the Lord Jesus Christ by the means of the Holy Spirits regenerative work.
Matt. 20:15, John 15:16,  Acts 13:48, Rom. 9:10-24, Rom. 11:4-6, 33-36, 1 Cor. 1:27-29, Eph. 1:4-5,  2 Thess. 2:13-14, etc.

Jesus Christ came into this world not to merely enable men to save themselves but to effectually save them from their sin and to secure forever their pardon and righteousness before a Holy God.
Matt.1:21, John 10:11-18, 24-29, John 17:1-16, etc.
God the Father marked out those to be saved and at the appointed time the Son secured their redemption and by the Holy Spirit the benefits of Christ's obedience and death are applied to the elect.

Salvation is by God alone through the work of the Holy Spirit wherein He makes the sinner alive through His regenerative work.
John 1:12-13,  John 3:3-8, John 3:27, John 5:21, Rom. 8:14, Rom. 9:16, 1 Cor.2:10-14, 1 Cor.6:11, 1 Cor.2:3, 2 Cor.3:5-6, Eph.2:1-5, Col. 2:13. Acts 16:14, etc.

And because the elect are redeemed by Christ and born again by the Holy Spirit unto newness of life and kept in faith by the power of God they will persevere and inherit eternal life.
Matt.18:12-14, John 3:16, 36, John 5:24, John 6:39, 47, John 10:27-30, Rom.8:1, 35-39, 1 Cor.1:7-9, Eph.1:5,13-14, Eph. 4:30, 1 Thess.5:23-24, 2 Tim.4:18, 1 Peter 1:3-5, 1 John 5:11-13, Jude 1,24-25, etc.
